Miami picked up a major commitment from 2023 offensive lineman Frankie Tinilau on Monday morning.

Tinilau is originally from Australia but will attend Miami Immaculata La Salle this fall. He’s expected to move to the United States later this summer. Here’s his announcement:

Tinilau does not currently have a Composite ranking, but his offer list is very impressive. The Hurricanes beat out Florida State, Arizona State and BYU for his services. He’s listed at 6-foot-5, 315 pounds.

He’ll presumably be evaluated by all the major recruiting services during the summer and fall

“I really like Miami,” Tinilau told 247Sports on Monday. “I’ve always been a big fan of coach [Mario] Cristobal and [offensive line] coach [Alex] Mirabal. I’m excited for what the future holds. I will be watching the progress the team makes. It would be fun playing for a head coach who’s a former offensive linemen.”

Miami now has 5 commitments in the class of 2023. The group ranks No. 19 nationally and No. 3 in the ACC, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Tinilau and other 2023 prospects will be able to officially sign during the Early Signing Period in December.
