Former Clemson receiver Frank Ladson Jr. committed to Miami on Saturday afternoon, giving the Hurricanes a nice boost to their receiving corps in 2022.
Ladson, who is originally from Miami, confirmed the homecoming on Twitter:
Ladson is a former bluechip prospect who never caught on at Clemson. He was the No. 39 overall player in the class of 2019, per 247Sports Composite rankings
. However, he gained just 428 yards across three seasons with the Tigers.
His production fell off this past season, as he caught just 4 passes for 19 yards. 2020 has been his best season to date — he caught 18 passes for 281 yards and 3 touchdowns.

ouches at Oklahoma in 2020 — through the portal, and he became one of the most prolific receivers in the country. He set Miami’s single-season record for receptions and receiving yards, too.
With Rambo heading to the NFL, there’s plenty of targets to go around. Quarterback Tyler Van Dyke will be back after turning in a very impressive freshman season in 2021. Van Dyke ended the year with six consecutive games of 300+ yards and 3+ touchdown passes.
Ladson’s 15.6 yards per reception in 2020 indicates that he could contribute as a deep ball threat next season.
