The 2022 season was Miami head coach Mario Cristobal’s 1st season as the program’s head coach. The teams that made the list qualified for a bowl game and had a successful season in 2022. Miami was not bowl-eligible and went 2-4 in the last 6 games of the regular season.

ESPN college football writer Mark Schlabach compiled the list and he even included 10 teams that just missed the top 25. Miami was not amongst the 1

0 teams outside the early top 25. In the ACC, only 3 teams from the conference made the rankings.

Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke will return for the 2023 program. Van Dyke had a down year in 2022 and will hope to return to his old form. In Cristobal’s 2nd year as head coach, Miami could improve with transfer portal additions. Miami already has commitments from 6 transfers this cycle.

Miami will aim to become bowl-eligible — and perhaps compete for the ACC — in 2023.
