Miami is one of the teams to look out for in the recruitment of former Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson, according to a report.

Jefferson entered the portal earlier this month after being a multi-season starter in Fayetteville. He’ll bring nearly 1,000 pass attempts worth of experience to his next program for his final year of eligibility.

According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Miami is in the mix to land Jefferson along with TCU and Central Florida.

Jefferson has spent the past three seasons as Arkansas’ starter. He completed 65.1% of his passes for 7,911 yards, 67 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. He’s also rushed for 21 touchdowns during his collegiate career.

Miami is searching for a starting quarterback for 2024 after Tyler Van Dyke entered the transfer portal earlier this offseason. The Hurricanes are looking for a QB capable of pushing them toward ACC title contention next season.

Miami has previously been linked to former Kansas State quarterback Will Howard and former Washington State quarterback Cam Ward in the portal.

Jefferson has one year of eligibility remaining.
