Miami is one of four finalists for transfer linebacker Mitchell Agude.

Agude is transferring from UCLA after two seasons with the Bruins. He has 14.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in his career. He also has 6 career forced fumbles.

In addition to Miami, Agude is also considering Washington, Tennessee and Oregon. Here’s his announcement:

Miami has added 5 players via the transfer portal this offseason, including pass rusher Antonio Moultrie from UAB and defensive lineman Jake Lichtenstein from USC.

The Hurricanes are looking to improve their defense on the fly after a disappointing 2021 campaign. New defensive coordinator Kevin Steele has had success at major programs in the past, so a quick turnaround is conceivable.

Agude is a former JUCO player who was a 3-star prospect in the class of 2020, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He was the No. 2 JUCO player in the country for that cycle.

Miami will play its 2022 spring game on April 16.
