Miami is a 9-point underdog in its marquee matchup with Texas A&M this fall.

That’s according to an early spread released by FanDuel this week. A total has not yet been released for the game.

Miami will travel to College Station for this game, which might help explain what appears to be an inflated point spread. The Hurricanes would be a 0.5-point underdog on a neutral field, according to ESPN’s FPI.

This will be the first major test of the Mario Cristobal era. The Hurricanes open the 2022 season with Bethune-Cookman and Southern Miss before facing the Aggies.

Texas A&M has a lot of momentum this offseason. The Aggies signed the No. 1 recruiting class in the country for the class of 2022, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. A&M has been building a strong roster for years now, despite not having reached 10 wins since the 2012 season.

Miami is 2-1 all-time against Texas A&M. The Hurricanes swept a home-and-home series in 2007-08. They won in College Station 41-23 in 2008. A&M’s lone victory in this series came in 1944.

The game will be played on Sept. 3. A kickoff time has not yet been set.
