Miami has picked up a commitment from a top JUCO prospect.

Demetrius Freeney out of College of San Mateo has pledged to play for the Hurricanes. He made the announcement on social media, tweeting a note with the following:

“My journey was wild, but it was exciting! I want to start by thanking God for placing me in a position to succeed. Secondly, my parents provided me with everything from love to support. Without them this thing we call life would be hard. Also my coaches from youth football all the way to JUCO, they’ve all have always valued me as a person, in addition to helping me on the field. I never would’ve believed I needed brothers, but CSM provided me with them. CSM changed my life in many way and I’m grateful for the program. I want to thank my grandparents who are no longer with us,| know if they were here they’d be very proud of me. Coop as well,he believed in me early, wish y’all were here to see the success. All the people I’ve mentioned are all responsible for the man I have become today. With that being said I will be committing to the University of Miami !! #GoCanes! #LLCoop”
