Miami QB commit Jaden Rashada denies reported NIL deal
On Monday afternoon, Miami quarterback commit Jaden Rashada provided clarity over some recent reports regarding his NIL status.
A report from On3 on Sunday stated that Rashada has agreed to a $9.5 million NIL deal with Miami booster John Ruiz through his company, LifeWallet.
However, Ruiz — and now Rashada — has denied that report.
Here’s Rashada’s statement from Monday afternoon:
“All reports of my decision involving a NIL deal is inaccurate,” Rashada wrote in-part. “I would never make a life/career choice for any monetary value. As I stated in my commitment live on TV I chose Miami because of the relationship I have with the coaches, players, and the direction the program is headed.”

Rashada chose the Hurricanes over Florida and other top programs. According to that same report from On3, Rashada turned down an $11 million offer from Gator Collective.
That recruiting win over the Gators is a big victory for new Miami coach Mario Cristobal, who will be in plenty of recruiting battles with Florida in the coming months and years. Florida also has a new head coach in Billy Napier.
He’s one of the top recruits in the country. The California native is the No. 7 overall quarterback for the class of 2023, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
