Miami reportedly in the mix for recently-decommitted Clemson TE

Miami is reportedly in pursuit of 3-star TE Reid Mikeska, who decommitted from Clemson on Thursday night.

That’s according to 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong, who named the Hurricanes amongst a few other schools are who hoping to land a visit from Mikeska.

Florida, Oklahoma, Auburn and Alabama are also in the mix:

Mikeska is the No. 26 tight end in the country for the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s originally from Cypress, Texas, which is near Houston.

However, Mikeska’s ranking could rise in the coming months as he’s re-evaluated by scouting and recruiting services. That seems likely given the quality of programs that are recruiting him.

Miami is off to a good start in 2023. The Hurricanes already have 5 commitments in this cycle, which isn’t bad for a program that overturned its coaching staff the previous offseason.

The class currently ranks No. 29 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings
