Miami reportedly makes final decision on Tyler Van Dyke for Pitt game

Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke is expected to start on Saturday night vs. Pittsburgh, according to a report.

That’s per the Sun-Sentinel’s Adam Lichtenstein, who is citing sources. Van Dyke hasn’t played since the Florida State game due to an upper body injury.

He originally suffered the injury against Duke back in October. He started the game against the Seminoles, but had to leave the game in the first half after re-aggravating the injury.

This is a huge game for Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes. Miami needs a win in order to secure bowl eligibility this season. If it fails to beat Pittsburgh on Saturday night, its 2022 campaign will be over.

Here’s video of Van Dyke warming up before the game:

Miami hasn’t won a home game since Sept. 10 against Southern Miss. All three of the Canes’ ACC victories this season have come on the road. Those wins were against Virginia, Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech.

Miami is a 4.5-point underdog in this game. The Canes have won four straight meetings in this series.

Kickoff is at 8:00 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
