For Miami fans, this is a big season as this is Year 2 with Mario Cristobal as the head coach. Last year wasn’t the greatest first year for Cristobal, as the Hurricanes went 5-7 and missed a bowl.
The Hurricanes went 3-5 in ACC play, but a troubling thing was how bad they were getting beat in those games.
Miami lost four ACC games by at least 24 points, with those coming to Duke, Florida State, Clemson and Pittsburgh.
One thing that Cristobal has done very well and quickly is rebuild the defensive line for the Hurricanes.
The defensive line is the deepest position currently on the entire team, and has a chance to be one of the best in the ACC.
After the game against Miami (OH), the Hurricanes will get a big opportunity to show where it is at as a program as they host Texas A&M next weekend. Last year, the Hurricanes lost to the Aggies, 17-9, in College Station.
Friday’s game against Miami (OH) is scheduled for 7 pm and will be played on the ACC network.
