Incoming Miami recruit Jayden Wayne will miss Saturday’s All-American Bowl with an injury.

Wayne’s father, Donald Wayne Jr., announced that Jayden will attend the game but he will not be able to participate due to injury.

However, Wayne will be able to take part in the game’s festivities for the players in the incoming recruiting class. Wayne will take time to recover from his injury and will get ready to join Miami’s program for the 2023 season.

Wayne also confirmed that he will not be playing in the All-American Bowl.

“Wish I could be out there,” Wayne said.

According to 247Sports’ Composite rankings, Wayne is a 4-star defensive end from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Wayne is the No. 11 ranked edge in the country and the No. 15 rated recruit in Florida for the 2023 recruiting class.

Miami will be getting a top 75 recruit in the Class of 2023. Wayne signed with Miami over Georgia, LSU, and Oregon. He visited Miami on June 17, 2022, and committed in July 2022. For the Class of 2023, Miami has the No. 4 overall recruiting class, according to 247Sports. Wayne is a key part of the recruiting class and will be a valued member of Miami’s defense.

Miami ended the 2022 season with a 5-7 record and was not eligible for a bowl game.
