Miami safety Bubba Bolden will enter the 2022 NFL Draft, he announced on Friday afternoon.

Bolden has been a primary starter for the Hurricanes in each of the last two seasons. He has 135 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 2 sacks and 2 interceptions in his career.

Here is Bolden’s announcement:

“Like many youth football players, I dreamed of making it to the NFL,” Bolden wrote in-part. “My passion for the game is more on fire now than ever before, and it is with humility, excitement and overwhelming gratitude to everyone who has been part of my journey that I announce I am declaring for the 2022 NFL Draft.”

Replacing Bolden will be a big task for the Hurricanes this offseason. The are multiple other contributors who will also need to be replaced, including defensive tackle Nesta Silvera.

Miami’s defense finished sixth in the ACC in yards per play allowed last season.

Next up for Bolden is the NFL Scouting Combine later this spring.
