Miami is going to back to the Sweet 16.

The Hurricanes dominated Auburn for a full 40 minutes, ultimately winning 79-61. This was the largest margin of defeat for the Tigers all season.

Charlie Moore was the catalyst in this game. He finished with a modest 15 points, but he also contributed 9 rebounds and 8 assists. He was in complete control, especially as Auburn turned up the intensity in the second half.

The Hurricanes also got big performances from stars Kameron McGusty and Isaiah Wong. McGusty and Wong scored 20 and 21 points, respectively, in the win.

As a team, Miami’s defense really frustrated Auburn’s starting lineup. The vaunted front court of Jabari Smith Jr. and Walker Kessler combined for just 12 points on 3-of-22 shooting.

Auburn also turned the ball over 13 times, which Miami converted into 17 points. The Hurricanes finished the game with a 30-1 advantage in fast break points.

Miami will now play No. 11-seeded Iowa State in the Sweet 16 on Friday. Miami has never reached the Elite Eight in program history.
