Miami is reportedly trending in the right direction for 5-star offensive lineman Samson Okunlola.

That’s according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, which gives the Canes a 95.3% chance of landing the talented lineman.

If Miami does land Okunlola, he would become the second 5-star offensive lineman to join Miami’s 2023 class. Francis Mauigoa has been committed to Miami since July 4.

Here’s some analysis from On3’s Peter Warren on Okunlola’s recruitment:

“Landing Okunlola, the nation’s No. 3 offensive tackle, would be a massive win for Mario Cristobal on the recruiting trail. Miami already has a top-10 class, and it could rise even higher by pairing Okunlola with fellow five-star offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa. Those would be two cornerstones for a rising program.”

Okunlola is the No. 15 overall player and the No. 3 offensive tackle in the country for the class of 2023, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

He’s listed at 6-foot-5, 305 pounds. He attends Thayer Academy in Brockton, Massachusetts.

Miami is recruiting at a very high level in this class, which will be the first full cycle with Mario Cristobal at the helm. The Canes have 17 commitments and the No. 9-ranked class nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
