Paul Finebaum declares Miami as college football’s ‘greatest fraud’

Miami suffered a shocking upset loss to Middle Tennessee on Saturday afternoon.

That defeat prompted harsh reaction from fans and media — including longtime college football radio host Paul Finebaum.

Finebaum appeared on ESPN on Sunday morning and d

idn’t hold back his thoughts on Miami’s program.

“New coach, but Miami is still college football’s greatest fraud,” Finebaum said on ESPN. “How many times have we been to this precipice? Turnover chain, Miami is back. They’ve been back almost as many times as Texas has been back.

“I mean, it’s a disaster down there. We read too much into A&M struggling against Miami and pulling out a win last week. This is the real Miami.”

The Canes are n

ow 0-2 on the season after dropping consecutive nonconference games. Miami entered the year with aspirations to compete for an ACC title and perhaps receive College Football Playoff consideration.

Technically, its ACC hopes remain alive. Miami hasn’t played a conference game yet and could still right the ship. But Miami’s issues — including a quarterback controversy and injuries to key receivers — seem to be longterm issues.

Miami is off in Week 5 but will face North Carolina in Week 6.
