Recruiting analyst predicts key Miami commit will flip to SEC rival
Miami could be in danger of losing one of its top commits to the University of Florida.
CaneSport’s Gary Ferman went on On3’s InsideScoop this week and predicted that 4-star linebacker Malik Bryant will flip to the Gators.
“I’m going to say ‘flip’ on that one,” Ferman said. “I think that’s the one guy that Florida is going to go all-in on, because they can … I’m going to say he’s going to over-play his hand with Miami and possibly end up a Florida Gator.
“I could end up being wrong there and maybe he sticks, but he’s the one guy in the Miami class that I’ve got a circle around that’s got the radar up a little bit.”
Here’s video of Ferman’s comments:
In the latest edition of STICK or FLIP we got Gary Ferman on the HOT seat 👀
We covered about a dozen potential FLIPS and got Gary's opinion, which may surprise you on a few 😳

Ferman’s prediction is a direct contradiction to a declaration that Bryant made in mid-November. After rumors started swirling about his interest in Florida, Bryant said his commitment was “1000% closed.”
Here’s that statement:
Come January I’ll be a freshman at THE University Of Miami and practicing on GreenTree in no time. Oh and by the way MY RECRUITMENT IS 1000% CLOSED. When I’m playing on Sundays it’ll say I graduated from the U ! 🧡💚@coach_cristobal pic.twitter.com/CCxmnVodXs

Bryant is the No. 77 overall player and the No. 5 linebacker in the country for the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s Miami’s fourth highest-ranked commit so far in this cycle.
The Early Signing Period begins on Dec. 21.
