Former Miami players are planning to hold a 3.5-hour discussion about the state of the Hurricanes football program this week, according to a report.
That’s per Miami insider Andy Slater, who notes that a video of the event is expected to be released next week.
The Hurricanes are coming off arguably their most painful loss of the season — a 31-28 defeat to rival Florida State in which Miami led for nearly the entire fourth quarter.
Miami is now 5-5 on the season and is virtually eliminated from ACC Championship Game contention.
However, according to The Athletic’s Manny Navarro, this meeting is designed to be solution-oriented and not a “bashing event.”
Miami coach Manny Diaz is back on the hot seat despite beating two ranked teams in October. The Hurricanes are 5-5 this season and 19-15 overall in Diaz’s tenure.
Miami hasn’t appeared in the ACC Championship Game since 2017 — its only appearance on that stage.
The Hurricanes finish their season with games against Virginia Tech and Duke. They will need to win at least one of those games in order to reach bowl eligibility.
