Former Miami receiver Mark Pope is back in the transfer portal, according to a report.

On3’s Matt Zenitz was first to share the news that Pope has re-entered the transfer portal after spending the offseason with Jackson State.

Pope moved on to Jackson State last December, but never played a game at Deion Sanders’ program.

A former blue-chip recruit, Pope struggled to get on the field in 2021. He saw playing time as a reserve in 2019 and 2020, leaving Miami with 680 yards and 4 total touchdowns in his career. Pope also briefly considered moving to cornerback at Miami but was unable to stick at the position.

Pope was the No. 11 receiver in the country for the class of 2018, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also a Miami native who attended Miami Southridge High School.

Pope’s next destination is unclear. He has at least 1 more year of eligibility remaining.
