Report: Lane Kiffin would leave Ole Miss for Miami job if offered

Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin would accept the Miami job if the Hurricanes come calling, per a report.

That’s according to Miami insider Andy Slater, citing sources in the Kiffin camp.

Kiffin’s agent is J

immy Sexton, who represents a large number of high-profile college football coaches.

It’s worth noting Miami has not yet made a decision on coach Manny Diaz. He’s 19-15 overall in nearly three seasons at the helm, but Diaz’s job was believed to be safe prior to a last-second loss to Florida State in Week 11. The Hurricanes are 5-5 this season and parted ways with athletic director Blake James earlier this week.

If Miami does d

ecide to make a change at head coach, Kiffin would make sense as a target. Kiffin is in his second season at Ole Miss and has led the Rebels to an 8-2 record this season.

Kiffin also has plenty of experience recruiting in the state of Florida. He was previously the head coach at Florida Atlantic for three seasons and has had stops at multiple other SEC schools in his career.

Miami hosts Virginia Tech this weekend.
