ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt has unveiled his college football picks for Week 9 and they include the matchup between Miami and Virginia.
Van Pelt is picking Virginia a
t +2 against visiting Miami. The SportsCenter anchor expects a close contest.
“Staying in the ACC… we already have West Virginia. Now we are taking just plain old regular Virginia — thank God there isn’t an East or a South Virginia because this week I’d probably have them, too,” Van Pelt said. “Cavaliers at home plus a small spot against the Canes.”
Van Pelt is 6-3 all time when he picks Virginia, so it’ll be interesting to see what unfolds in the contest.
Virginia has a 3-4 overall record and is sixth place in the ACC Coastal. Virginia is coming off a 17-9 victory at Georgia T
ech.
Miami also has a 3-4 overall record and is fourth place in the ACC Coastal. Most recently, Miami fell 45-21 against visiting Duke.
Miami leads the all-time series 11-8 against Virginia. Virginia won last season’s meeting 30-28 at Hard Rock Stadium.
Miami-Virginia is slated for a 12:30 p.m. ET kickoff and will be televised on ESPN3.
