Miami safety target Jayden Bonsu has finalized his final 5 programs and announced his commitment date.

Bonsu, a 4-star safety from Hillside, New Jersey, will make his commitment on August 14.

In addition to the Canes, he’s also considering Michigan State, Penn State, Alabama and Ohio State.

Bonsu is the No. 22 safety prospect in the country for the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 4 player from the state of New Jersey.

Miami’s recruiting class has exploded this summer. The Canes are up to 16 commitments in this cycle and the class ranks No. 9 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings. Bonsu took an official visit to Coral Gables back in June.

While the recruiting class as a whole is strong, Miami does need more talent in the secondary. 4-star athlete Robert Stafford is the only defensive back currently in this class.

Bonsu is listed at 6-foot-1, 210 pounds. He attends Hillside Prep.
