Southern Miss fell for the miss-direction, and quarterback Tyler Van Dyke hit Key’Shawn Smith for a wide-open 35-yard TD.

The score gave Miami a 24-7 advantage midway through the third quarter.

This was Miami’s third consecutive touchdown drive after falling behind 7-3 late in the first half.
