Tyler Van Dyke shares insight on Miami's mentality during off week
Tyler Van Dyke and Miami are off to a great start so far in 2023.
The Hurricanes are 4-0 and are coming out of their bye week after a strong showing in September.
Van Dyke met with reporters on Saturday and was asked about the team’s mentality coming out of the idle week. Aside from a trip last week to Puttshack, Van Dyke said the team has remained focused on football.
“We’re only 4 games into the season, still gotta go to work,” Van Dyke said. “Just because we won the first 4 games doesn’t mean we’re going to win the last 8. We worked really hard last week and are going to continue to do that this week.”
Miami has been much-improved on both sides of the ball so far this season, especially on offense. The Hurricanes lead the ACC with a mark of 8.24 yards per play.
Miami is now just 2 wins away from bowl eligibility. It can close that gap further — and pick up its first ACC victory of the season — this weekend against Georgia Tech.
Miami and Georgia Tech will kick off at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
