WATCH: Miami legend Ed Reed works with Canes’ defensive backs at fall camp

Miami legend Ed Reed is back at Greentree.

Reed visited Miami’s practice session on Thursday morning and was actively working with the Canes’ defensive back group.

Here’s a few clips of Reed at Miami’s fall camp:

Connecting with former players has been a big priority for Miami coach Mario Cristobal in Year 1. Former Miami defensive end Jason Taylor has also been working with players during fall camp.

As for Reed, the players seemed to appreciate having him out there on Tuesday morning.

“It’s always good to see a Hall-of-Famer to come around and give us pointers,” Miami cornerback DJ Ivey told reporters. “It’s always good to have him around.”

Miami’s secondary is u

ncertain entering the 2022 season. The Canes have several talented players — including Ivey, Tyrique Stevenson, Kamren Kitchens and more — but they allowed 250.6 passing yards per game last season, which ranked 11th in the ACC.

Reed starred for Miami from 1998-2001. He was a 2-time consensus All-American and helped lead the Canes to the National Championship in 2001. Reed was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2018.

Miami opens the 2022 season with Bethune-Cookman on Sept. 3.
