New Miami offensive coordinator Josh Gattis spoke to the team for the first time on Friday afternoon.

Head coach Mario Cristobal introduced Gattis after an offseason workout. Gattis left Michigan to take the Miami OC job earlier this week.

Here’s the clip of Gattis talking to the team:

“I’m excited to be here,” Gattis said in-part. “It’s an honor to be here, but it ain’t a luxury. I didn’t come here for me, I didn’t come here for you. I came here for us. Us. As a team, united together.”

Gattis also has experience at programs like Alabama and Penn State. He’s widely respected as one of the best young coordinators in all of college football.

Miami’s offense figures to be one of the best in the country next season. The Hurricanes return quarterback Tyler Van Dyke, who flashed potential as one of the top freshman quarterbacks in the nation. They also get back key playmakers like running back Jaylan Knighton and tight end Will Mallory.

Miami’s spring game is on April 16.
