AJ Cole is going back to the Pro Bowl.

On Monday, Cole was named to the 2023 NFL Pro Bowl Games. The former NC State specialist, who completed his fourth season with the Raiders franchise, is replacing Kansas City Chiefs P Tommy Townshend, who is heading to the Super Bowl.

Cole may not be asked to do too much, but he’s excited to be going.

In 2022, Cole finished No. 4 in the NFL with a 48.9 gross punting average on 59 punts, while his 43.9 net punting average ranked No. 5 in the league (min. 50 attempts). Cole downed 12 punts inside the 10-yard line. His 20.3% mark ranked on punts inside the 10 ranked fifth-best in the league. With 5 punts downed inside the 5-yard line (8.5 percent), Cole ranked second in the NFL.

The Pro Bowl has a new format in 2023. There will be week-long skills challenges culminating in a flag football game from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
