Breaking down North Carolina State's 2022 recruiting class so far
What North Carolina State’s 2022 recruiting class lacks in quantity, it makes up for with quality.
The Wolf Pack have just 12 commitments so far this cycle, but three of them are 4-star prospects. Running back Michael Allen, linebacker Torren Wright and defensive lineman Brandon Cleveland are all blue-chippers, with 3-star quarterback MJ Morris on the fringe.
If Dave Doeren and his staff are able to increase this class size by December, it has a good chance to rise quickly up the rankings.
Here’s a breakdown of where NC State’s class currently stands:
Class ranking: No. 8 ACC, No. 43 nationally
Total commits: 12
Blue-chip commits (4-and-5-star prospects): 3
Highest-rated offensive player: 4-star RB Michael Allen | No. 209 overall | No. 20 RB | Greenville, North Carolina
Highest-rated defensive player: 4-star LB Torren Wright | No. 84 overall | No. 30 LB | Kannapolis, North Carolina
Final thoughts: Last season, North Carolina State’s class finished No. 35 overall in the 247Sports Composite rankings. That class also had three blue-chip prospects and finished with 21 players in total. That gives the Wolf Pack a good bench mark for where they need to be before the Early Signing Period in December.
