Casey Morsell, NC State guard, announces plans for 2023-24 season

Casey Morsell is returning to NC State for the 2023-24 season.

Morsell announced that news on Sunday afternoon. He had previously declared for the 2023 NBA Draft, but maintained his collegiate eligibility.

Here’s his announcement:

Morsell returning to NC State is huge news for the Wolfpack. He averaged 11.8 points and 4.4 rebounds per contest last season.

He’s also one of the top 3-point shooters in the country. He made 41.1% of his long range looks last season on a volume of 5.6 attempts per game.

Morsell’s return gives NC State some continuity in the b

ack court as it prepares for next season. Jarkel Joiner and Terquavion Smith have both departed to begin their professional careers.

Kevin Keatts and his staff have also overhauled a large part of the roster this offseason. The Wolfpack have brought in 6 transfers and a pair of 4-star high school prospects from the class of 2023.

The 2023-24 season will be Morsell’s final year of eligibility.
