NC State baseball struggled mightily this weekend and got swept by Wake Forest, causing serious questions to be asked about its NCAA Tournament résumé.

D1Baseball.com’s latest bracketology update has NC State as one of the “last four in” the field of 64. The ACC has 11 teams included in that projection, which leads all conferences.

NC State had high expectations this season, but have mostly fallen short. Aside from Tommy White’s standout season, the Wolfpack have struggled to look like a team capable of making it back to Omaha.

As a result of the sweep vs. Wake Forest, NC State is now the No. 10 seed in this week’s ACC Tournament. The Wolfpack are in a pool with Miami and those same Demon Deacons.

NC State will have to go 2-0 in order to advance in the ACC Tournament. Regardless, it may need at least one victory vs. those teams to impress the NCAA Tournament selection committee.

Here’s the schedule for the ACC Tournament:

NC State will learn its fate in the NCAA Tournament during the selection show on Monday, May 30.
