Dave Doeren is officially the winningest head coach in NC State history.

Doeren won his 78th game as NC State’s head coach on Saturday night, passing Earle Edwards for that honor. Doeren has served as NC State’s head coach since the 2013 season. It took him a little under 11 years to pass Edwards’ all-time program record. Edwards was NC State’s coach from 1954-1970.

Doeren also has the highest winning percentage (.578) amongst all NC State coaches who have led the program for at least 85 games during their tenure.

NC State got over the line with a 24-6 win over Miami on Saturday night. The win is NC State’s fourth in its last six games. It’s also the Wolfpack’s first win over Miami since the 2008 season. Miami had won four straight games in this series.

NC State has seemingly salvaged its season after a slow start to the 2023 campaign. The Wolfpack made a QB change midway through the year and has played much better since turning to MJ Morris to lead the offense.

The Wolfpack are now 6-3 on the season and 3-2 in ACC play. NC State has been bowl-eligible in 9 of Doeren’s 11 campaigns at the helm in Raleigh.

NC State will go on the road to face Wake Forest next weekend.
