NC State quarterback Devin Leary will be a game-time decision this week against Syracuse.

Coach Dave Doeren delivered that news on Thursday afternoon. He said the team would find out Saturday if Leary will be able to play vs. the Orange.

Leary suffered a shoulder injury in the second half of NC State’s win over Florida State last weekend. Earlier this week, Doeren confirmed that Leary will not need surgery.

However, the star quarterback is still questionable moving forward. He’s expected to be back at some point this season, but NC State has not revealed the specifics of Leary’s injury.

If Leary isn’t able to play on Saturday, it will likely be Jack Chambers getting the start. Chambers led NC State to a comeback win over FSU last weekend without completing a pass.

NC State is a small underdog on the road at Syracuse on Saturday. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET.
