Demie Sumo-Karngbaye, former NC State RB, announces transfer destination

Demie Sumo-Karngbaye is headed to the SEC.

He will be joining former NC State quarterback Devin Leary at Kentucky for this upcoming season. Sumo-Karngbaye spent 2 years with the Wolfpack before entering the transfer portal.

Here’s his announcement:

Sumo-Karngbaye finished 2nd on the team with 305 yards last season. He also led the team on a per-carry basis with an a

verage of 5.5 yards per rush.

NC State’s returning running backs include Jordan Houston, who led NC State with 544 yards last season. He’s entering his 5th campaign with NC State. Michael Allen is also expected to return after rushing for 268 yards as a true freshman in 2022.

The Wolfpack could also look toward the transfer portal if necessary. They have signed 6 transfers so far this offseason, although none at the running back position.
