Devin Leary will not play vs. Syracuse on Saturday night, according to a report.

That’s per ESPN’s Pete Thamel, who notes that Leary injured his shoulder in the second half of NC State’s comeback win over Florida State last weekend.

The Wolfpack will turn to Jack Chambers, who lead them to 3 second-half scoring drives against the Noles. Chambers did not complete a pass during the comeback. He finished the game with 39 rushing yards on 7 attempts.

Chambers is a former Charleston Southern standout who transferred to NC State this offseason.

This is a huge game for the Wolfpack, as Syracuse enters this game with an undefeated record. Both teams are trying to stay alive in the race for the ACC Atlantic title.

Leary is one of the top quarterbacks in the ACC when healthy. He earned preseason ACC Player of the Year honors. His injury will not require surgery and he is expected to return at some point this year.

Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
