Georgia and NC State will battle in Game 3 of the Athens Super Regional on Monday evening with a spot in the College World Series on the line.

Neither of the previous 2 games in this series have been close. NC State won 18-1 in Game on Saturday and the Bulldogs responded with an 11-2 victory on Sunday to even the series.

Here’s a look at the latest betting lines and projected pitching matchups for a decisive Game 3, courtesy of FanDuel:

Georgia vs. NC State betting lines | Game 3

Run line: Georgia -1.5 (+112) | NC State +1.5 (-146)

Money line: Georgia -156 | NC State +122

Total: Over 15.5 (+100) | Under 15.5 (-132)

In Game 1, NC State got off to a fast start and never looked back. The Wolfpack scored 11 runs in the 2nd inning and then were able to cruise to a comfortable win. NC State’s lineup tagged UGA pitching for 10 extra-base hits (including 5 home runs) in that victory.

In Game 2, Georgia responded with some early runs of its own. The Bulldogs scored 2 in the first inning and ultimately held an 8-0 lead before the bottom half of the 4th inning. NC State’s offense did produce 9 hits in Game 2, but only 2 went for extra bases.

Omaha will be completely comprised of SEC and ACC programs in 2024 — that’s assured regardless of the result of this game. If Georgia wins, the SEC will set a new all-time record for one conference with 5 teams at the College World Series. If NC State wins, the SEC and ACC will both have 4 teams at the CWS, matching the previous record.

Here’s a look at the projected pitching matchups for this game:

Georgia vs. NC State probable pitching matchups

Georgia probable pitcher: Zach Harris | 6.69 ERA in 35 innings | 42 strikeouts | 18 walks

Zach Harris has widely-reported as UGA’s starter for Game 3. He previously started UGA’s regional championship game against Georgia Tech and was on the mound for the Bulldogs’ regular-season finale against Florida. Harris worked out of the bullpen for most of the year, but is coming off of perhaps his best outing of the season against the Yellow Jackets: 6 innings, 8 hits, 4 earned runs and 6 strikeouts.

Despite both of the previous games in this series being blowouts, Georgia has already deployed a couple of its high-usage bullpen arms this weekend. Jarvis Evans (39.1 innings) pitched 3 innings in Game 1 and Brian Zeldin (53 innings) pitched 2.1 frames in Game 2. Because Charlie Goldstein is not on the active roster, that leaves only 2 other pitchers with 35+ innings this year who haven’t yet appeared in this series: Christian Mracna and Josh Roberge. Mracna and Roberge have posted ERAs of 5.32 and 7.00, respectively, so far this season.

NC State’s lineup has been effective in both games of this series, despite the relatively-low scoring output in Game 2. The Wolfpack have combined for 29 hits over the first 2 games of this series. They are led by a trio of dangerous hitters who are batting above .300 with 17+ home runs on the season: Alec Makarewicz, Garrett Pennington and Jacob Cozart.

NC State probable pitcher: Logan Whitaker | 6.23 ERA in 47.2 innings | 52 strikeouts | 18 walks

Logan Whitaker is expected to take the mound tonight for NC State as the Wolfpack look to make their way to Omaha for the first time since 2021. A veteran presence who initially joined NC State in 2019, Whitaker has been a significant contributor over the past couple of seasons after battling injuries early in his collegiate career. He’s coming off a strong start against James Madison in the regional championship game last week: 6 innings, 4 hits, 2 earned runs and 6 strikeouts.

NC State has done a good job of managing its bullpen this week. Key bullpen arms such as Jacob Dudan, Derrick Smith, and Cooper Consiglio have yet to appear in this series and could all have multi-inning appearances if necessary in Game 3. Dudan could be especially impactful — he’s a talented freshman who has come on late in the year with just 5 earned runs in his last 15 innings of work. He’s also struck out 20 batters over that span.

Georgia’s lineup was quiet in Game 1 but responded well in Game under tough circumstances. The Bulldogs will hope for a big day out of Charlie Condon, who has struggled in this series. Condon was arguably college baseball’s best hitter in 2024 but is just 1-for-7 with 2 walks so far in this series.

First pitch is set for 7 p.m. ET on Monday evening.
