Nate McMillan, former NC State guard, relieved of coaching duties by Atlanta Hawks
Nate McMillan has coached in the NBA since 1998 following his playing days with the Seattle Supersonics. The former NC State guard made stops in Seattle, Indianapolis and Portland before being named HC of the Atlanta Hawks in 2021 after a year as an assistant.
The Hawks made a run to the conference finals in 2021 behind rising superstar Trae Young. But after just a few years running the Hawks program, McMillan was dismissed from the program Tuesday afternoon.
The Hawks currently sit at 29-30 on the season.

Hawks assistant head coach Joe Prunty has been named the interim head coach for the Hawks, who are expecting more from a good roster and a star player like Young.
McMillan was head coach for under 2 years in Atlanta.
