It’s been a closely fought, back-and-forth kind of game for NC State and UConn as both teams open up Week 1 of the 2023 college football season.

The Wolfpack put up their latest points on the scoreboard on an 11-play, 91-yard drive that culminated in a touchdown set up by a defensive pass interference call.

The penalty, called on UConn defender Tui Faumina-Brown, came at the UConn 3-yard line on a fourth-and-2 play. The pass from transfer quarterback Brennan Armstrong fell incomplete due to the interference, originally intended for Pack wide receiver Keyon Lesane.

Two plays later, it was NC State rusher Delbert Mimms who got the job done, making it to the endzone on a short rushing play to make it 17-7.

Here’s a look at the scoring play:

The Wolfpack went into the fourth quarter up 24-14 on the Huskies. UConn has given NC State all it can handle so far.
