NC State lands commitment from highly-recruited pass rusher

NC State added to its 2023 recruiting class on Tuesday afternoon.

The Wolfpack picked up a commitment from 3-star EDGE Isaiah Shirley.

Here’s his announcement:

Shirley is the No. 62 EDGE in the country for the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 23 player from the state of North Carolina.

Keeping Shirley in-state was a big priority for the Wolfpack, who now have 7 total commitments in this class — including 4 North Carolina natives. The class ranks No. 52 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Shirley chose the Wolfpack over offers from programs like Virginia Tech, Tennessee and West Virginia, amongst other programs. He’s already taken visits to Blacksburg and Knoxville earlier this summer.

Shirley and other prospects in the class of 2023 will be able to officially sign with a program during the Early Signing Period in December.
