NC State lands commitment from in-state, 4-star DB prospect

NC State won a major recruiting battle on Friday afternoon.

The Wolfpack have secured the commitment of 4-star defensive back Zack Myers. The North Carolina native picked NC State over Virginia Tech, Tennessee and South Carolina.

Here’s video of his announcement:

Myers is listed as an athlete by the major recruiting services. He’s the No. 29 athlete and No. 393 overall player in the class nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

However, he’s expected to play defensive back with the Wolfpack.

Myers took an official visit to Raleigh earlier this month. That was apparently enough to seal his commitment, which comes nearly 1 year after NC State originally offered him a scholarship.

NC State now has 8 commitments in the class of 2023. Myers is one of 2 players with a 4-star ranking, joining tight end Javonte Vereen. The class ranks No. 48 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings

.

Here’s some of his highlights from his junior season of high school:

Myers and other 2023 prospects will be able to officially sign with a program during the Early Signing Period in December.
