NC State center Ebenezer Dowuona has entered the transfer portal, according to a report.

On3’s Jamie Shaw was 1st to report the move. Dowuona spent the last 3 seasons win the Wolfpack.

Dowuona played in 70 games, starting 30 of them, over 3 years with NC State. Last season, he averaged 24.5 minutes per contest.

However, he had a significantly lesser role with the team this past season. Dowuona played just 10.9 minutes per game and averaged just 1.7 points.

Dowuona was a 3-star prospect in the class of 2020. He was the No. 55 center in the country for that cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

What this means for NC State

The Wolfpack reached the NCAA Tournament this season, but they will likely have a much different roster moving forward. Guard Jarkel Joiner is out of eligibility and Terquavion Smith could opt to pursue a professional career.

NC State does have a pair of 4-star prospects committed in the class of 2023, but neither are centers. The Wolfpack will likely look to replace Dowuona via the transfer portal.

NC State has not made the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back years since making it 4 years in a row from 2012-15.
