NC State running back Delbert Mimms has entered the transfer portal.

Mimms officially announced that decision on Sunday morning. It comes after he spent the previous 5 seasons in Raleigh and posted career-best numbers in 2023.

“I would also like to thank Coach Doeren and the rest of the coaching staff for pushing me to higher standards and installing key principals to live by,” Mimms wrote in-part in his announcement. “I want to give a special thanks to my teammates for pushing me everyday and will be my brothers for life.”

Mimms played a big role for the Wolfpack in 2024. He rushed for a career-high 282 yards and 8 touchdowns. This was his 5th year with the program.

Mimms initially joined NC State as a 3-star prospect out of Indianapolis in the class of 2019.

NC State has had several running backs enter the transfer portal this offseason. Mimms joins running backs Michael Allen and Jordan Houston in the portal. However, the Wolfpack also added a key player at that position by landing a transfer commitment from ex-Duke running back Jordan Waters.

Mimms will have 1 season of eligibility remaining at his next destination.
