NC State loses veteran DB to transfer portal midway through 2023 season
NC State defensive back Darius Edmundson has announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal.
The move comes as NC State is preparing to face Duke in Week 7. Edmundson, a former JUCO prospect, spent 3 seasons with the Wolfpack.

Edmundson initially arrived in Raleigh as a transfer from Louisburg College in the class of 2021. He was the No. 94 overall player and the No. 8 safety in that JUCO cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
However, he has played sparingly during his time with the Wolfpack. He’s been credited with one total tackle so far in 2023.
Edmundson’s departure is not a huge hit to NC State’s depth in the secondary, given his lack of playing time to this point in the season.
He will be able to officially enter the transfer portal when the transfer window opens in December. Edmundson will have one year of eligibility remaining at his next program.
