NC State will face Kansas State in the Pop-Tarts Bowl later this month to close out the 2023 season.

The Wolfpack have not reached double-digit wins since the 2002 campaign, but are in position to get there this season after winning the final five games of the regular season.

Here’s the official announcement:

The Pop-Tarts Bowl was previously known as the Cheez-It Bowl. NC State has not appeared in this bowl game since 2010 when it was then known as the Champ Sports Bowl. NC State defeated West Virginia in that contest.

Kansas State will be playing in this game without starting quarterback Will Howard, who announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal last week. Avery Johnson was K-State’s backup quarterback this season. He completed 23-of-35 passes for 301 yards and 3 touchdowns.

NC State and Kansas State have never met before in football.

The Pop-Tarts Bowl will be held on Dec. 28, 2023 in Orlando, Fla.
