UVA is 0-3 on the year, and 0-2 in Power 5 contests before ACC play. Tony Elliott’s team lost to Tennessee 49-13 in Nashville in Week 1. Virginia lost its home opener 36-35 to James Madison. The Cavaliers got off to a strong start against Maryland, but the Terrapins charged back to win 42-14.
The Wolfpack have already been on the road once this season. NC State won 24-14 at UConn in Week 1.
Friday’s game at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville is set for 7:30 p.m. ET, airing on ESPN. It will be an emotional return for QB Brennan Armstrong, who played 5 years at UVA before transferring to NC State.
