NC State freshman Tommy White has been one of the best stories in all of college baseball this season.

He took the country by storm with an early-season home run streak. While the headlines have faded somewhat for the Wolfpack slugger, he’s still dominating college baseball.

On Tuesday, he hit his 19th home run of the season. That homer sets the record for the most home runs by an ACC freshman and by an NC State player in the BBCOR era.

The BBCOR era dates back 11 seasons. White is closing in on 20 home runs for the season, which would make him the first NC State player to reach that mark since Tony Ellison in 1995. NC State’s single-season home run record is 25, set by Turtle Zaun and Tracy Woodson.

NC State is now 26-13 on the season. The Wolfpack had a lull early the year, but have gotten back on track in ACC play. They’re now 11-0 against conference opponents. They’re currently projected to be a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament, per the latest bracketology.

NC State has a nonconference series at home vs. Radford this weekend.
