NC State-UConn game moves to weekday matchup, per report
NC State’s Week 1 matchup with UConn will now be played on Thursday, Aug. 31, according to a report.
That’s per the Action Network’s Brett McMurphy, who notes that the game will be televised on CBS Sports Network. This game was previously scheduled to be played on Saturday, Sept. 2.

The scheduling change is likely being made to accommodate the broadcast schedule.
NC State is now 1 of 2 ACC programs who will be playing on Thursday of Week 1 in 2023. Wake Forest is also set to take on Elon that day, although kickoff times have yet to be announced.
The Wolfpack will have now have a couple extra days to prepare for a tough Week 2 matchup against Notre Dame. NC State is hosting the Fighting Irish on Sept. 9.
NC State in 2023
NC State is entering the 2023 campaign with high expectations. The Wolfpack have a strong quarterback room led by transfer Brennan Armstrong and sophomore MJ Morris. New offensive coordinator Robert Anae is also expected to help the Wolfpack take a step forward on offense.
Defensively, NC State will be tasked with replacing several seniors from last year’s team.
NC State is hoping to achieve its first 10-win season since 2002.
