Payton Wilson asks NC State fans to 'stop booing' Brennan Armstrong
Payton Wilson delivered a message to NC State fans after the team’s win over Marshall on Saturday night.
Wilson asked fans to stop booing Brennan Armstrong, who was replaced as the team’s starting quarterback this week.
“I love Wolfpack nation to death, do not get me wrong. I love them to death, they are the best fans in the country. And I love MJ to death and he played some of the best ball from a quarterback that I’ve seen at this school today,” Wilson said. “But we got to stop booing Brennan.
“Just imagine if that was your kid, you know, out on that field in front of 70,000. Let’s get behind him Wolfpack nation when he’s in there.”

While MJ Morris received the vast majority of the snaps vs. the Thundering Herd, Armstrong did get into the game as a runner. Fans boo’d Armstrong as he entered the game. His lone carry on the day resulted in a 5-yard loss.
Morris helped lead NC State to a 48-41 win over Marshall with a big day though the air. He threw for 265 yards, 4 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in the victory.
NC State is now 4-2 on the season. The Wolfpack will face Duke on the road next week. Their next home game will be against Clemson on Oct. 28.
