NC State offensive coordinator Tim Beck is headed to Coastal Carolina, according to a report.
Beck is finalizing a five-year contract to replace Jamey Chadwell at Coastal Carolina, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel. The deal is expected to pay him “nearly” $1 million per season.
Beck just finished his third season as NC State’s offensive coordi
nator. The Wolfpack’s offense has been solid under Beck when healthy, but that was a major concern this season.
Quarterback Devin Leary missed the second half of the year, which is a major reason why NC State gained only 4.87 yards per play in 2022. That ranked only 11th in the ACC — behind offensively-challenged teams like Clemson, Miami and Virginia.
There’s a lot of uncertainty around NC State going into next season. Leary’s status is unknown as he continues to weigh his options. The Wolfpack will also be looking for a new offensive coordinator in the coming weeks.
NC State will learn its bowl game opponent on Sunday afternoon.
