Terquavion Smith scores 17 in return, leads Wolfpack to win over Notre Dame

Terquavion Smith did not look like he would be playing any time soon after being stretchered off the court in last Saturday’s loss to North Carolina.

Smith took a scary fall and had to be taken to the hospital. He landed on his back and immediate concerns were with his neck, but X-rays came back negative and he was released from the hospital Saturday night.

Amazingly, he played and contributed well in Tuesday night’s win over Notre Dame, helping lead the Wolfpack to a 85-82 win with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Ole Miss transfer Jarkel Joiner led the way for the Wolfpack with 28 points.

It was not his most efficient scoring outing, as he hit just 2 of 14 attempts from the field. Still, he was instrumental in the win.

Smith is regarded as a future first round pick and has the Wolfpack playing as well as they have this decade. NC State is 16-5 on the year with a matchup against Wake Forest on the docket.
