North Carolina center Armando Bacot is entering this season as one of the nation’s best college basketball players.

According to data from EvanMiya.com, Bacot ranks as the No. 4 player in the country going into the 2022-23 season. He trails only Gonzaga’s Drew Timme, Kentucky’s Oscar Tshiebwe and Purdue’s Zach Edey.

Here’s a look at the list:

Bacot was named preseason ACC Player of the Year on Tuesday. He was a candidate for that award at the end of last season, but it ended up going to Wake Forest guard Alondes Williams.

Last season, Bacot averaged 16.3 points and 13.1 rebounds per contest. He’s on pace to become North Carolina’s all-time leading rebounder at some point this season.

North Carolina is entering this year with high expectations. The Tar Heels are ranked No. 1 in the preseason AP Poll and return 4 players from last year’s squad that made it to the National Championship Game.

UNC opens its season against UNCW on Nov. 7.
